Clean Air and Learning Mississippi (C.A.L.M.)

Better Air. Better Learning.

Our Mission

Every student deserves to learn in a healthy environment. Poor indoor air quality impacts student health, concentration, and academic success. Through education, advocacy, and practical solutions, C.A.L.M. aims to equip schools with resources to improve classroom air quality to ensure that Mississippi’s students and teachers can breathe easier every day.

What is a Corsi-Rosenthal Box?

The Corsi-Rosenthal Box is a powerful, low-cost, do-it-yourself air cleaner built with just a box fan, MERV-13 filters, cardboard, and duct tape.

It’s not fancy—but it works.

  • Removes airborne particles, including viruses, allergens, and pollutants
  • Improves classroom air quality in under an hour
  • Quiet, affordable, and effective—perfect for schools

Best of all? Students can help build them. These boxes don’t just clean the air—they teach kids about public health, environmental responsibility, and the power of innovation.
