About Therapy and Treatment
If you are hurting, or your life is too stressful or lacking the kind of joy you feel should be there, talking with someone trained in focusing in on the causes and solutions that work for you can be powerfully effective.
- The Clinic offers individual approaches that are tailored to your needs. Individual therapy begins with your first phone call, where we decide on the very best person for you.
How does therapy work?
Seeking treatment is the first step to improving your life, achieving personal growth, and enhancing self-improvement. Therapy is more than just a conversation—it's a transformative journey. By being open and honest with someone else, you'll learn to be more truthful and clear with yourself.
- At the Psychological Services Center, we provide therapy that in a safe, non-judgmental space so you can explore and understand the origins of your challenges and how to address them in your daily life.
- Therapy involves making yourself vulnerable and discussing difficult topics, but this process allows you to safely explore and release your feelings, leading to lasting, positive changes.
A common misconception is that seeking therapy is a sign of weakness. In reality, recognizing the need for help and reaching out is a testament to your courage, strength, and determination.
Together with your therapist, you’ll set goals and develop a plan to achieve them, ensuring that your treatment brings meaningful, positive outcomes for your life.

The Psychological Services Center does not accept insurance, but will gladly submit claims to insurance companies on your behalf. Since the clinic is not “on panel” with most insurances, often the services will not be.
- However, we have designed our services to be on line with what many insurance company co-pays and deductibles would be. We offer a very generous sliding scale, an it is our policy to not turn anybody away for an inability to pay. If this presents an issue for you, just let the staff know during your first session.
- Only you can be the judge as to whether or not you are ready to start, but if you feel you might be, we stand ready to help.
If you are in a position where you either do not have insurance, or want to remain confidential and not have to send personal information to your insurance company, the Psychological Services Center offers a very affordable sliding scale based on your income and life situation.
