Oxford, Mississippi
The concept of Southern hospitality is well-known — warm smiling faces, a quick, easy laugh, and a smooth drawl. The American South is a fabled, evocative land of warmth and generosity, so it is no small designation that, in a region recognized for its kindness to strangers, Mississippi is known as the “Hospitality State.”
The University of Mississippi, also affectionately known as “Ole Miss,” is located in the heart of the American South, in the north-central region of Mississippi, in a town called Oxford. It is not a typical small American town and combines the charm and safety of a small town with the multiculturalism and energy of a larger city. And, it's the perfect point to explore the rich and diverse culture of cities like Memphis, TN; Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; and New Orleans, LA.
