Mentoring Programs

Our mentoring programs connect first- and second-year students with experienced upperclassmen who offer guidance, support, and a sense of community as they navigate college life.

UM CONNECT

UM CONNECT matches incoming freshmen with an upperclassmen mentor. The program serves as a vital component to students’ academic and personal success. Through email, social media contacts, monthly scheduled events, and 1:1 meetings, CONNECT Mentors provide additional support to help students complete their first year at the University and remain on a course toward graduation.

Our IMPACT Kick-Off sets the tone for the year by creating a supportive space where mentors and mentees can connect, bond, and begin building community.

IMPACT Peer Mentoring

The University of Mississippi’s IMPACT program, launched in 2021 with support from the Woodward Hines Education Foundation, helps Mississippi college students succeed by offering professional coaching, peer mentoring, financial support, and access to enriching academic experiences.

A collaboration among several campus offices, IMPACT includes a peer mentoring program for sophomores, where upperclassmen provide guidance through weekly meetings, workshops, and ongoing communication.
