Measuring Goal Achievement & Objectives

This evidence will be used in annual reports, strategic reviews, and external evaluations to track progress, ensure accountability, and guide continuous improvement toward achieving the NCTR’s mission and goals.

  • Number of peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and white papers focused on tactical readiness.
  • Amount of external funding secured (e.g., grants from DoD, DHS, NIH).
  • Interdisciplinary collaborations across university departments and external partners.
  • Citations and usage metrics of NCTR research in academic, policy, and operational contexts.

  • Number of students trained through internships, research assistantships, or curriculum tied to NCTR initiatives.
  • Course or program enrollments in tactical readiness-related fields (e.g., exercise science, engineering, public health).
  • Professional certifications or continuing education programs offered and completed.
  • Placement or advancement of students in tactical professions or graduate programs.

  • Formal partnerships established with military installations, law enforcement agencies, fire departments, EMS organizations, and emergency management services.
  • Attendance and feedback from training events, workshops, or conferences hosted by the NCTR.
  • Satisfaction surveys and stakeholder evaluations to assess the usefulness and impact of center services.

  • Pre/post measures of health, performance, or readiness among military and first responder participants (e.g., physical fitness, injury rates, mental health indicators).
  • Case studies or pilot project results showing improvements in operational capacity, workforce retention, or injury reduction.
  • Feedback from participating units and agencies on the applicability and value of NCTR-supported interventions.

  • Invitations to national policy discussions, federal advisory boards, or interagency panels.
  • Recognition or awards from relevant professional associations or governmental bodies.
  • Media mentions and public engagement metrics highlighting the center’s influence.
