The Campus Recreation staff want to assist in making your recreational experience as safe and as enjoyable as possible. The staff is aware of the many and diverse needs and interests of those who enter into our programs and facilities. We hope we can provide assistance when needed and that all patrons will respect the rules, regulations and requests made by the staff.

Most of the staff you will come into contact with while using the facility are Ole Miss students. As Campus Recreation employees and employees of the University, these students are assigned roles of responsibility. Please work with them while participating in the programs or using the facility.

Campus Recreation encourages your suggestions, comments, concerns and even compliments. If you have something you would like to inform us of, please contact campusrec@olemiss.edu.

Facility Policies

Specific policies and regulations are posted at the activity areas and are to be adhered to. Verbal instructions from facility staff are for the safety and comfort of all Campus Recreation patrons and are to be strictly enforced.

Access to the Turner Center & South Campus Recreation Center (SCRC)

  • The Turner Center and SCRC are single entry/exit facilities. Entry and exit must always be through the turnstiles at the access control areas.
    • If an individual attempts to use an ID other than their own, the ID will be confiscated and sent to the Dean of Students Office (University of Mississippi Policy Code DSA.200.001).
  • Participants included in a group reservation must either swipe through the turnstiles if they have an active UM ID card or sign a group waiver if they do not have an active UM ID card.
  • UM students and Campus Recreation members MUST present their ID card to gain access to the recreation facilities (University of Mississippi Policy Code DSA.200.001).
    • Please be aware that an inactive ID card or not presenting an ID card at all will result in the denial of access.
  • Patrons are expected to exhibit proper conduct and to respect the rights of others at all times. Engaging in unacceptable, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior/language towards an employee of Campus Recreation or Campus Recreation patron may result in the loss of facility privileges.

Activities

  • Use of the Turner Center and SCRC is for academic and recreational purposes only.
