Band
One of the premier university band programs in the nation. Our program offers five different concert ensembles, three athletic bands, two jazz ensembles, and a variety of small ensembles designed to serve the needs of music majors and non-music majors. Whether your interest is performing with the Wind Ensemble at the Ford Center or marching in the Pride of the South at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, there is a band for you within our Department of Music.
Choir
The University of Mississippi Choral ensembles have a legacy of excellence and are nationally recognized for their outstanding performances. Our program offers four choirs including the Concert Singers, Men’s Glee, Women’s Glee, and University Chorus. Participation in these choirs is open to all Ole Miss students, both music majors and nonmusic majors. We welcome all students who want to be part of the Ole Miss choirs.
Opera Theatre
The University of Mississippi Opera Theatre provides comprehensive training for the next generation of singing-actors. Performers receive developmental training in movement, interpretation, stagecraft, audition preparation, and learn how to work with conductors, coaches, directors, and colleagues to prepare for careers on the stage.
Orchestra
The Lafayette-Oxford-University Symphony Orchestra is sponsored by the Department of Music and serves as one of the major university ensembles.

Ole Miss African Drum and Dance Ensemble (OMADDE)
The Ole Miss African Drum-Dance Ensemble (OMADDE) was founded by George W. K. Dor in September of 2003, after a fifteen-piece set of carved Ghanaian drums was acquired by the University. The music department offers African Music and Dance as a credit-earning course available to all students in both fall and spring semesters.

Chamber Ensembles
The University of Mississippi offers numerous chamber ensemble performance opportunities for students that are coached by Music Faculty. These include woodwind, brass, string, and mixed instrumental ensembles. Chamber music is an important part of a student's curriculum, and participating in non-conducted chamber ensembles promotes independence, improved aural skills, and fosters leadership in its participants. Our chamber music ensembles are committed to performing a wide range of literature that includes standards as well as music that reflects the currency of our time.
