UM instrumental students perform in ensembles and as soloists. They work in combos, quartets, symphony, band, and jazz settings, immersing themselves in a wide rand of repertoire to become well rounded musicians and music educators.

UM Piano students build well-rounded skills. They work as soloists with opportunities to collaborate in choral, symphonic, opera, and jazz settings while immersing themselves in a wide range of solo and collaborative piano repertoire.

Voice students at the University of Mississippi perform as soloists and in ensembles. Working in choral, symphonic, opera, and jazz settings, students receive well-rounded training while immersing themselves in a wide range of art song literature.

A holistic approach to performance. Yoga for performers is designed to enhance the development of performers through yoga to promote physical and mental wellbeing. Students improve core strength, flexibility, coordination, and focus while reducing stress and anxiety associated with public performance.

Students enrolled in applied lessons are assigned a collaborative pianist at the start of the semester by the faculty. Whether attending lessons, rehearsing, or coaching UM Music supports collaborative music making as part of the core curriculum.

Be a part of the Ole Miss African Drum and Dance Ensemble through practical instruction in music and dance traditions of selected Sub-Saharan African ethnic groups. Students are introduced to various techniques of drumming, dancing, and singing and while performing both on and off campus. OMADDE enhances multicultural life on campus and the community beyond, serving as both a proof and tool of the cultural diversity at the University of Mississippi.
