The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Dr. John M. Rimoldi, Ph.D., is Professor of Medicinal Chemistry & Environmental Toxicology, and Research Professor of The Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy at The University of Mississippi. He currently serves as Director of Research and Graduate Affairs in the Department of BioMolecular Sciences, and Director of the Chemistry and DM/PK Core Laboratory associated with the NIH-COBRE program grant. He is a faculty member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College and Vice- President and Co-Founder of Paradox Pharmaceuticals Inc., an early-stage company dedicated to the development and commercialization of new drugs for treating cancer in companion animals. Dr. Rimoldi received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh (1989), and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Virginia Tech (1993). He spent 2 years as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Peters Center for the Study of Parkinson's Disease and Disorders of the CNS prior to starting his academic appointment at the University of Mississippi. He served three 3-year terms as a Distinguished Teaching Scholar in the School of Pharmacy and has been awarded Teacher of the Year six times by the PY1 Pharmacy Class. He has served as dissertation or thesis advisor to 15 graduate students. He has also the recipient of the UM Faculty Achievement Award (2012), The UM Excellence in Graduate Teaching and Mentoring Award (2015), and The UM Elsie M. Hood Outstanding Teacher Award (2017). He teaches courses in Pharmacogenomics, Pharmacoimmunology, and Oncology. He is a long-standing member of The America Chemical Society and The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Dr. Rimoldi has published over 80 research articles in the areas of synthetic, medicinal, and environmental chemistry. His research activities include programs in drug discovery and development, natural products chemistry, and drug metabolism. He served as the Chair of the Local Section of the ACS, Chair of the Chemistry Section of AACP, and is currently president of MALTO Inc.
