The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

John Bentley is a Professor of Pharmacy Administration and a Research Professor in the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy with a joint appointment in the Department of Marketing in the School of Business Administration. He also serves as the Director of the Center for Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. He previously served as the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Administration and the Program Coordinator for the University's Graduate Minor in Applied Statistics. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy and M.B.A. from Drake University, M.S. and Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration from The University of Mississippi, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Biostatistics from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). In the pharmacy curriculum, John teaches elements of biostatistics, epidemiology, research design, and drug literature evaluation. At the graduate level, he teaches several applied statistics courses, including general linear models and multivariate statistics, and has taught several elective courses (e.g., longitudinal data analysis methods, categorical data analysis, and principles of statistical mediation and moderation). With extensive experience using primary data collection methods, analyzing secondary data, and performing statistical analysis, John has conducted research in a variety of areas including: quality of life assessment and patient-reported outcomes; medication use, misuse, and outcomes; pharmacoepidemiology; healthcare quality assessment; measurement of adherence to medications; ethics and professionalism; pharmaceutical marketing and direct-to-consumer advertising; patient behavior; patients' evaluation of health-care providers; pharmacy practice management; and health behaviors among college students. His statistics interests include longitudinal data analysis and statistical mediation and moderation analysis. John has been a member of many interdisciplinary research teams and has consulted with numerous researchers concerning statistical analysis. He has published research in numerous journals, presented at many different national/international meetings, has served as a peer reviewer for various journals, and has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association. He has chaired or co-chaired 20 Ph.D. or M.S. committees and has served on the Ph.D. or M.S. committees of an additional 140 students from various disciplines.
