Carla is a Speech Language Pathologist and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Biography
Carla received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Mississippi. She currently serves as Speech Language Pathologist, clinical instructor, and undergraduate instructor for CSD 301, Speech Sound Disorders. Carla has served as a medical Speech Language Pathologist for 13 years prior to her current position at the University of Mississippi.
She has experience across a variety of settings including inpatient acute and rehabilitation, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities and schools serving pediatric through geriatric populations. She is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Therapy, Speak Out Parkinson’s Voice Therapy, Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing and trained in Beckman Oral Motor.
Her interests include diagnostics, pediatric language, and age-related cognitive changes.
