Lt. Col. Matthew Mills is the Chair and Professor of Aerospace Studies at the University of Mississippi. He is the Commander of the Air Force ROTC program.
Biography
Lieutenant Colonel Matthew B. Mills is the Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 430, University of Mississippi. He is the Aerospace Studies Department Chair, responsible to the University President and Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps for recruiting, training, and developing the leaders of tomorrow’s Air Force and Space Force.
Lieutenant Colonel Mills received his commission through Florida State’s Reserve Officer Training Corps in 2004. His career includes four operational squadron tours, headquarters staff, and eight deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Germany.
Lieutenant Colonel Mills is a command pilot with more than 3,500 hours in specialized air mobility aircraft including over 1,100 combat hours in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and the Philippines. He previously served as the Assistant Operations Officer, 15th Special Operations Squadron, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida. Lieutenant Colonel Mills is married with two sons.
