Biography
Nathan Towery is an assistant professor in the School of Journalism and New Media at the University of Mississippi. He is a mixed-methods scholar that investigates the intersection of communication, identity, and sport. Much of his work examines sport fan identity, perceptions of rivalry, and fan discourse. Dr. Towery is currently teaching courses in sport communication and integrated marketing communication. His research interests include identification, the strategic communication of sport, and the motivations for sport fanship and fandom.
