About the Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business
You have a passion, but you want to give yourself options. The General Business program empowers students to blaze an academic path tailored to their interests. It provides you with the fundamental skills to pursue your passion, as a doctor or artist for example, while still preparing you for a business-related career. The program produces creative problem solvers and graduates who easily adapt to the dynamic needs of our global society.

The General Business curriculum includes the core business subjects, an internship or study abroad opportunity, and a minor from another discipline outside the business school. Minor in General Business
Students from other schools/colleges at the University of Mississippi can earn a General Business minor by completing the following courses:
- ACCY 201 – Introduction to Accounting Principles I OR ACCY 202 – Introduction to Accounting Principles II
- ECON 202 – Principles of Microeconomics OR ECON 203 – Principles of Macroeconomics
and choose four courses from the following:
- GB 310- Information Technology in Business

Community Involved
Finley Rock is a junior from Rockford, Illinois, majoring in General Business with a minor in Chemistry, Biology, and Entrepreneurship. In addition, she is a part of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College.
She is an ambassador for the School of Business, a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and Vice President of Beta Beta Beta, which is the biology honors society.
