Why Choose a Minor in Manufacturing
At the Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence, the minor in Manufacturing is full immersion into real-world production from day one. Students from diverse majors work together to take ideas through design, prototyping, and manufacturing on a 12,000 square-foot live production floor and gain hands-on experience in wood, metal, plastics, and composites.
Students will learn engineering, business, and accounting principles through a manufacturing lens from faculty and professionals with decades of industry experience.
With unparalleled job placement, students graduate with technical knowledge, applied skills, and industry insight in manufacturing, tech, or product-oriented careers.
Preparing Future Leaders
Our industry partners provide students with real-world experiences that put into practice the methods, processes, and knowledge presented in the classroom. This is accomplished through meaningful workplace experiences such as co-ops, internships, and experiential learning courses.
