About the Center for Health and Sport Performance

The University of Mississippi Center for Health & Sports Performance (CHSP) exists to create, share, and apply knowledge in a free, open and inclusive environment. How do we do this? CHSP uses in-depth research to create best practices and validate current practices.

We work hard to create applied experiences for students to explore their career fields within a comprehensive athletic health and sport performance environment. CHSP also works with surrounding communities by offering a variety of services including:

  • Professional development
  • Performance nutrition services
  • Strength and conditioning camps
  • Sports medicine cost containment
  • Consulting to small colleges and high schools
  • Performance training

No matter your background or goals, we provide a free, open, and inclusive environment where you can learn, grow, and make a real impact. Join us and unleash your potential in the exciting world of health & sports performance!

The Center for Health & Sport Performance is located at the South Oxford Center (formerly Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi) on South Lamar Blvd. The UMCHSP was approved by the IHL in October 2013 and is a partnership between the School of Applied Sciences and Athletics.
