Tenor/Bass and Treble Choir Festivals
The University of Mississippi Choral program offers two dynamic choral experiences in one day: the Treble Choir Festival and the Tenor/Bass Choir Festival.
Choir Festivals
Treble Choir Festival
The UM Treble Choir Festival was conceptualized in 2019 as part of the UM Women's Glee performance of Andrea Ramsey's Suffrage Cantata, which, due to the pandemic, was performed in April 2022. This choral festival opportunity was uniquely designed for treble singers. To provide an experience unlike other choral festivals, the Treble Choir Festival includes an opportunity for advanced middle school, high school, community college, university, and adult singers to perform together and learn from each other: a multi-generational choral experience.
Tenor/Bass Choir Festival
The Tenor/Bass Choir Festival was introduced in 2024, offering Tenor/Bass singers a day filled with rehearsals, engaging activities, and discussions designed to empower student musicians and inspire them. The festivals culminate in a choral informance (informational performance) on The Gertrude C. Ford Center stage to conclude the event.
