Ole Miss Choir and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra perform in the Ford Center

Orchestral Collaboration

In a collaboration with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Memphis Symphony Chorus, UM Choirs performed Verdi Requiem in Memphis, TN and in Oxford, MS at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts.

Choir Festivals

The University of Mississippi Choral program offers two dynamic choral experiences in one day: the Treble Choir Festival and the Tenor/Bass Choir Festival. These events offer singers the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and perform in inspiring, multi-generational settings.

Tenor/Bass and Treble Choir Festivals

The Treble Choir Festival, originally conceptualized by Dr. Libby Hearn in 2019 as part of the UM Women’s Glee Club’s performance of Andrea Ramsey’s Suffrage Cantata, brought together advanced middle school, high school, community college, university, and adult treble singers for a unique choral experience.

The Tenor/Bass Choir Festival was introduced in 2024, offering Tenor/Bass singers a day filled with rehearsals, engaging activities, and discussions designed to empower student musicians and inspire them. The festivals culminate in a choral informance (informational performance) on The Gertrude C. Ford Center stage to conclude the event.
