Proposal Bank
Make your proposal as strong as possible with help from fellow researchers on campus.

Resources from your colleagues
Explore a collection of successful and draft research proposals shared by UM faculty to support your proposal development process. On this page, you’ll find examples of narratives from funded (and occasionally declined) proposals, sponsor reviewer comments, and early drafts with feedback—all curated to help you craft your strongest submission. These resources are accessible to anyone with a UM WebID credential through Box.
Using the UM Proposal Bank
The UM Proposal Bank represents the collaborative spirit of our research community. Faculty members across campus have generously shared their work to help others learn and grow, making proposal development a collective effort. Review these examples for valuable insights into structuring your proposal, refining your narrative, and understanding reviewer feedback.
Important Guidelines
- Use Restrictions: Unless otherwise noted, these documents are for UM internal use only and may not be shared outside the university.
- Originality: While these examples are here to inspire your work, do not copy original ideas, sentences, or phrases directly from them.
