The National Center for Tactical Readiness (NCTR) at the University of Mississippi enhances the health, resilience, and readiness of military and first responders through research, education, and innovation.

Enhance the health, performance, resilience, and operational readiness

The goal of the National Center for Tactical Readiness (NCTR) at the University of Mississippi is to enhance the health, performance, resilience, and operational readiness of military personnel, first responders, and other tactical professionals through applied research, education, workforce development, and community engagement. By leveraging the university’s interdisciplinary expertise, the NCTR aims to develop evidence-based solutions that address real-world challenges faced by tactical populations, improve the safety and effectiveness of those who serve, and position Mississippi as a national leader in tactical readiness innovation.

The NCTR is a first-of-its-kind resource in Mississippi and the region, and one of only a few nationwide. It offers a high-impact solution to the urgent readiness and resilience needs of military and first responder populations. By filling a longstanding gap in applied tactical research and workforce support, the NCTR will serve as a cornerstone of innovation, service, and strategic growth for Mississippi.
