The University of Mississippi is proud to host seven of the nine NPHC fraternities and sororities, also known as the Divine Nine.

NPHC Greek Life at Ole Miss
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) serves as the governing body for the historically African-American Greek letter organizations. Additionally, the council coordinates events that expose students to the history, mission, and purpose of all NPHC organizations on campus. The council also sponsors events that promote unity among the members of the different organizations.

The Theta Psi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., was founded at the University of Mississippi in 1974.

The Lambda Sigma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was founded at the University of Mississippi in 1974.

The Eta Zeta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., was founded at the University of Mississippi in 1973.

- Promote superior standards of scholarship, service, and leadership
- Create a harmonious working relationship among affiliate organizations
- Preserve the cultural heritage of the historically Black community service Greek organizations
- Provide programs designed to enhance the social, cultural, and educational life of the campus minority community
- Act in accordance with the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc., and the University of Mississippi rules and policies
- Act upon matters of mutual concern to the affiliate organizations
- Foster an understanding of the structure and methods of operation among the affiliate organizations
- Support Greek unity in the effort to coordinate and plan all-Greek programs and to foster ongoing communication between the three governing councils in the fraternity and sorority community at the University of Mississippi
- The National Pan-Hellenic Council was formed at Howard University with the purpose of creating a united body of Black Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities. Additionally, this Council served as a forum to allow these Greek organization to consider and address problems of mutual interest affecting their organizations and their college experience.
- The National Pan-Hellenic Council additionally serves as the governing body for the entire community of the predominantly Black Greek letter organizations. The Council is in charge of coordinating events that expose the undergraduate student body to the history, mission and purpose of all of NPHC organizations on the University campus. The Council also sponsors events which promote unity among the membership of the different organizations.
- The University of Mississippi is proud to host seven NPHC fraternities and sororities, also known as the Divine Nine. Since Omega Psi Phi joined our campus in 1973, NPHC chapters have been providing a quality experience to men and women here at Ole Miss.
The National Pan-Hellenic Council will generally host one Step Shows during each academic year featuring all of the University of Mississippi NPHC organizations. The Fall Step Show is typically held the week of Homecoming. Tickets for the Step Shows may be purchased through the NPHC Eventbrite. Date and time information for these Step Shows is publicized on our social media. Information on these events is also available in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (Student Union Suite D). Meet the Greeks Week is the introduction of all University of Mississippi NPHC Greek organizations. NPHC organizations will host several events to showcase each organization's mission, purpose, and accomplishments. Meet the Greeks Week traditionally includes tables in the Union, Greeks on the Plaza, the Greek Forum, and a Step Show and party. This is a week filled with information and fun.
