Long-term Disability Insurance
Safeguard your family’s lifestyle in the event you become disabled and unable to work.
If you suddenly became disabled and couldn’t work, would your family be able to manage your finances?
For many, this is a real concern. That’s where long-term disability (LTD) insurance comes in. It’s here to help protect your income and give you peace of mind, so if life takes an unexpected turn, you’ll still be able to meet your financial needs and take care of what matters most.
What is the LTD benefit?
The monthly LTD benefit is based on your regular predisability earnings from the University. Your monthly LTD benefit is 60% of the first $8,000 of your predisability earnings, as defined in the group insurance policy, reduced by deductible income.
Predisability earnings do not include bonuses, overtime pay, commissions, shift differential pay, your employers contributions on your behalf to any deferred compensation arrangement or pension plan, or any other compensation.
