Recently Earned a Job-related Degree, Certification, or Licensure?

If you completed a diploma, degree, or certification within the past 12 months, you may qualify for a professional development increase. Salary adjustments cannot be applied retroactively, so timely submission is important.

How to Request a Professional Development Increase

Step 1: Notify your supervisor.
Your supervisor will initiate the request in Workday by selecting:
Request Compensation Change → Base Pay Change → Professional Development (Degree or Certification)

Step 2: Provide documentation.
The supervisor must attach supporting documentation (such as a certificate or conferred transcript) and can include comments describing the rationale for the request.

Step 3: Review and approval.
The request will be routed automatically through the appropriate Workday business process. The Compensation team will review the documentation and either approve or deny the request. Notifications and any approved pay updates will be managed through the Workday system.
