Always Up-to-Date: How Dynamic and Curated Modules Help Your Page Stay Fresh

Dynamic components allow you to quickly feature departments, academic programs, faculty and staff, student ambassadors, testimonials, and news without duplicating all of your work!

  • These components are designed to limit the creation of duplicate information by using a centralized directory database to reference when utilizing any of the content used in dynamic components.

This will help keep our site small, keep our information fresh, and enhance our search engine effectiveness.

Showing off the Good News

There are multiple ways to show off the hard work that's happening on our campus. Whether it's students, faculty, or alumni, if you have a news story to share, we have a few ways to get the word out.

The News Redesign Module has a few options, Events, Meet the Team, or Research.

  • Events is a great way to show off relevant events that your audience may find interesting. Pair this with our event calendar and make sure to always surface the most relevant, upcoming events to your users.
  • Videos gives the user four different video options to choose from, featured and additional videos. To set up the featured video, cut and paste only the Video ID from the embed code (the part of the URL that comes after the site name) into the Video ID field in Cascade, and choose the proper video host, either Vimeo or Youtube. The additional videos are a bit simpler to pull in, simply plug in the embed code and you're good to go.

If you'd like an image to show on Cascade (other than the placeholder image of the Lyceum) you'll have to find a frame from your video, screen grab it, and adjust it to fit into Cascade (181 x 137).
  • Meet the Team presents a single news story, presenting the article's main image, title, and a link so users an access the article from your page.
  • Research allows you to automatically pull in three articles in a streamlined way. Users get to see the article's main image, read the title, and click a link to take a deep dive.
These modules allow for a few additional color choices as well. Don't be afraid to mix things up!
