Answers to some of the most common questions from current employees.
Employee Self-Service (ESS) allows you to view and change some of your employee information via myOleMiss.
From ESS you may:
- Update your payroll direct deposit information
- Update your employee address and communication preferences
- View your semi-monthly pay stubs
- Elect to receive and view your Form W-2 online
- Record time worked and leave taken
- Access your benefits information in real time
Eligible employees are required to utilize ESS for payroll entry and approval.
Update your address in myOleMiss:
- Log into myOleMiss
- Open the Employee Tab
- Open My HR Tools Apps
- Click on “Addresses and Communication Preferences”
- Fill out the “Address Details” section in the middle of the page. Then click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.
You can use myOleMiss to generate a letter of employment verification and a salary history report.
To generate your employment verification letter or salary history report:
- Login to myOleMiss and navigate to the Employee tab.
- Select “My HR Tools” followed by “My Employment Verification” or “My Salary History.”
The employment verification letter will include your name, current job title, current salary, original hire date and employment.
The salary history report will include your base rate and does not include any overtime, extra compensation and overload pay, if eligible.
Occasional “work from home” arrangements may be approved for a variety of circumstances. Examples include, but are not limited to, inclement weather, special projects, business travel, or waiting for repair or internet services. These arrangements are approved by the managing supervisor on an as-needed basis only, with no expectation of ongoing continuance.

Suspected misconduct may be reported to an employee’s immediate supervisor, department chair or dean (or to another individual in the employee’s chain of command).

The University of Mississippi Policy Directory is a central location for accessing and posting University-wide policies. The site also provides procedures and tools for the creation, revision, and periodic review of University policies. The Policy on Policy Management describes these processes.
