Future Career Outlook

The Hospitality Management Program prepares students to enter an exciting growing industry. Graduates in Hospitality Management have access to a diverse portfolio of career opportunities including foodservice management, lodging/resort management, meeting and event planning, and gaming management.  Median annual earnings of salaried employees in this industry, as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, include:

Industry Future

According to the National Restaurant Association, foodservice sales will reach $1 trillion in 2024 in the U.S. By the end of 2024 total industry employment will top 15.7 million. It's obvious that the industry is growing strong and looking to keep up the pace for years to come.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that there will be steady growth in travel, creating ample job opportunities for lodging managers. The hotel industry lost more than half a million employees because of COVID (2019-2020). But employee growth has been strong. From 2020 to 2023, the industry has hired more than 400,000 employees to make up for the shortage.

  • There's good news. This means there's a historic opportunity for students preparing for the industry during and after 2024. Future professionals have more opportunities and are being offered better benefits and flexibility than in previous years.
