Our Training Approach
Our training philosophy is based on the following principles to ensure each member of our community receives the right information at the right time to confidently perform tasks in Workday and Banner.
Adopting a strategy known as "Just In Time" training, we will deliver training sessions close to go-live dates, ensuring that the information is both relevant and easily retained by participants.
This approach is designed to maximize the effectiveness of training and to help employees feel confident and competent as they begin using the systems.
Initial training will prioritize the tasks you perform most frequently. You’ll gain just enough knowledge to be successful at go-live and be provided further training opportunities to expand your understanding of Workday and Banner.
This helps to ensure you first lay a solid foundation for future learning.
How You'll Be Trained
You may be trained with one or more of the following formats:
- Job Aids: Step-by-step guides with screenshots to walk you through specific processes
- Tip Sheets: Quick reference guides that explain key concepts and terms
- How-To Videos: Short demonstrations of specific tasks or processes
- Computer-Based Courses: Self-paced learning modules
- Live Webinars: Virtual instructor-led demonstrations and Q&As (recordings available)
- Instructor-led Training: In-person sessions with live demonstrations and hands-on practice
Post Go-Live Support Structure
Understanding that questions and challenges will arise as employees begin to use Workday and Banner, we are also developing a robust post-go-live support structure.
This will ensure that employees know where to turn for assistance and guidance, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment throughout the transition.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
