Project Encompass is the University of Mississippi’s initiative to modernize the campus enterprise systems that house student information, human resources/payroll and financial data.

This site provides details about implementing cloud-based systems to replace the university’s current on-premise ERP system, SAP, which has been in use at the university since 1999. Encompass is a foundational transformation that is instrumental to operational efficiency and effectiveness and will allow the university to better serve faculty, staff, students and researchers.
Encompass is a campus-wide initiative focused on a solution that integrates and manages various business processes and functions, providing organizations with a single, unified view of their data, processes, and information. From fall 2022 through spring 2024, the process included gathering requirements, assessing the university’s needs and current state, evaluating product vendors and recommending the best fit for UM. A 61-member evaluation and selection committee reviewed bids, while another 68 subject matter experts provided input from functions across the campus.
Project Scope
An evaluation designed to help institutions identify the cost roadmap, specific challenges, and future improvement campus-wide opportunities. This phase begins to set the pins for the organizational change management necessary for a successful enterprise system migration.

Encompasses capturing all unique and planned transitions wanted in an enterprise system migration surfaced during the previous phase(s). CampusWorks’ scenario-based RFP development identifies and articulates the enterprise system requirements to ensure a competitive procurement aligned to the University of Mississippi unique business needs for all functional departments.
