About this Program

A minor in Applied Gerontology is an online minor that allows students to explore the aging process and the multifaceted challenges that come with it.

  • Through this minor, students gain specialized knowledge in areas such as existing and needed programs for aging populations and the bio-psycho-social aspects of aging. Additionally, students learn about ethical considerations and advocacy related to aging and elder care.

This minor complements various majors by adding a unique dimension to a student's academic and professional profile. Graduates are prepared for careers in healthcare, social services, and community planning, among other fields.
