  • Family together at Turkey Trot event

    10th Annual Turkey Trot

    Get active Thanksgiving morning from 8-30-10:30 a.m. by walking or running your way down the South Campus Rail Trail at the distance of your choosing! Stop by the trailhead for light refreshments and coffee to fuel your trot and donate 10 canned goods to receive an event t-shirt while supplies last. All donations benefit the Grove Grocery and Oxford Food Pantry.

Two Recreation Centers

The South Campus Recreation Center (SCRC) and the Turner Center provide outstanding opportunities for the university community to pursue lifelong well-being. The SCRC opened in August of 2019 and serves as a transformational space to provide the University of Mississippi students a premiere collegiate experience.

Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs

Intramural Sports are individual, dual, or team sports held on campus and include sports such as flag football, softball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and more!

Sport Clubs traditionally practice and play against other universities but do not require as much time as intercollegiate sports. Examples of Sport Clubs include rugby, lacrosse, volleyball, and swimming, just to name a few.

Fitness

We offer a comprehensive group fitness schedule with over 40 classes offered each week including formats like cardio dance, cycling, Pilates, Yoga, and more. 

Reach your individual fitness goals through personal training or small group training sessions led by our certified personal trainers.

Outdoors

Visit the Outdoors office in the SCRC to rent camping, boating, cycling gear, and more or climb the 35-foot vertical climbing wall and 70-foot linear bouldering wall. Go for a stroll or bike down the South Campus Rail Trail. Check out the Challenge Course or reserve it for a group teambuilding session. Join us on one of our adventure trips which provides amazing backcountry experiences for students and community members.

Aquatics

Our 65-meter indoor pool offers areas for lap swimming, competitive training, and aquatic education programs. The pool hosts events such as inner-tube water polo, kayak instruction, and aqua yoga. We also offer swimming lessons and lifeguard certification courses.
