Our mission is to assist faculty, staff, and students of the University of Mississippi with all of their computing needs. We offer assistance to Ole Miss students and employees with technology-related issues such as software, hardware and networking. We also support email, Web pages, and other applications that run on the university's campuswide systems.

IT Helpdesk Student Consultant


The IT Helpdesk is actively seeking motivated, tech-savvy students to join our team as Student Helpdesk Consultants. If you’re passionate about technology and eager to support the university community, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Support: Respond promptly and professionally to technical inquiries via phone, email, or in-person, delivering effective solutions.
  • Incident Management: Accurately document and track all reported issues in our ticketing system to ensure timely resolution.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems for users across campus.
  • Device Assistance: Assist with the setup and configuration of various devices, including laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • User Guidance: Offer clear, step-by-step instructions to help users resolve technical issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to identify and implement process improvements that enhance the support experience.
  • Stay Current: Keep up with the latest technology trends to better assist users and suggest potential enhancements.
